Community Economic Development
Join this site if you are a volunteer attorney, legal services advocate, law student or faculty advising low income and disadvantaged clients, there are resources here to help you.
The CED Practice Group aims to empower Florida's communities and community-based organizations in their efforts to alleviate poverty by attacking the root causes of poverty.
We assist in developing, training, and empowering community-based organizations and low-income individuals to become actively involved in their community revitalization process.
Our work helps clients:
- Create and improve access to self-sufficiency wage jobs
- Develop and preserve affordable housing
- Develop child care facilities and youth centers
- Improve the transportation system and create transportation alternatives
- Get involved with development projects in their neighborhoods and communities
- Overcome barriers to employment
- Access other support services
Our practice area is password restricted. Membership and full access is available to all Florida legal services and legal aid advocates and members of the Community Economic Development Umbrella Group. Click here to join the Community Economic Development Practice Area.
